In April 2020, the Militarytimes.com reported that among troops, the infection rate of Covid-19 surpassed the average infection rate in the US at large.

HOOAH, Helping Out Our American Heroes, has sent thousands of care packages to forward deployed troops since 2011 and the Covd 19 crisis was another prompt for a care package drive.

Over the course of a few weeks, HOOAH has received items most requested by deployed troops, handwritten cards, monetary donations, and so much more. We are so grateful to all of those who have given.

HOOAH, Helping Out Our American Heroes is a 100% volunteer national veteran nonprofit.  With HOOAH chapters across the country, there are so many ways to help.

The Covid 19 Care Package drive continues and the items most requested by deployed troops include:

• dry spices
• sauces
• beef jerky
• wet wipes
• hard candy
• bubble gum
• toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash
• handwritten cards and notes
