Art is not always about pretty things. Its about who we are, what happened to us, and how our lives are affected. -Elizabeth Broun
Learn the skills of airbrush art from well-known local Artist David Stank. Warbird Airbrush is comprised of five 2 ½ hour sessions. Starting with a basic introduction and progressing to the completion of your very own airbrush masterpiece. Classes will be held at Richeson School of Art and Gallery in Kimberly, WI. www.richesongallery.com
Introduction to Airbrush is a multi-session course explaining the operation of airbrushes, paints, and substrate media. After this brief introduction students begin to build skills with the airbrush. These are common trigger control exercises while also developing skills to understand and paint dots, lines, the dagger stroke (foundation of airbrushing), and shading gradations.
During this session we will also cover Care & Feeding of the Airbrush as well as troubleshooting the airbrush when things go wrong.
A simple composition focusing on rendering basic 3D shapes follows as a hands-on exercise. Proficiency with the above will be followed by a basic airbrushed piece such as a portrait, still life, or similar composition. During this time further exploration of special effects achievable with the airbrush will be covered as needed. To learn more about instructor David Stank, visit www.warbirdairbrush.com
